Mark your calendars now!
The Keller Central High School Band will hold its 2012/2013 registration event in a couple of weeks during this year’s Mini-Camp. This is when we pay our activity fees and order all the stuff we will need for next fall. In that we are getting new uniforms, everyone will be required to purchase new shoes (white) and gloves (white) in addition to under uniform wear (shorts and shirts) and show shirts. Parents, this is the opportunity to order whatever spirit gear you may need (yard signs, bumper stickers, buttons, spirit shirts, polo shirts, ball caps and/or whatever else we may have to offer.) Music First will also be onsite selling appliances needed for the band (flip folders and pages, lyres, straps, berps…) We will be able to take cash, check, or credit cards this year. If you need to work out a payment plan, please contact Mr. McNulty ASAP!!
The event will be held in the KCHS Cafeteria from 7pm to 9pm each evening (or until we are done.) Incoming Seniors and Juniors are scheduled to register June 5, incoming Sophomores will register June 6, and June 7 is reserved for the incoming freshman. If you have more than one student in the band, you can register the entire family on either or your appropriate evenings.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO STAFF THE REGISTRATION EVENT. If you have a couple hours one evening or can help the entire each event, please let us know (briankboerner@yahoo.com) and we will get you on the schedule.
Marching Season has begun. See you in a couple of weeks.

Thank you for your attendance
GO CHARGER BAND
A big note of thanks to all the incoming freshman and parents who attended the “High School Band For Dummies” last week. I hope that we were able to answer your questions and set some expectations for the coming year. As promised, a pdf of the presentation is posted below.
Please take a moment to review the information and, if you have additional questions, please email the Band Director at kevin.mcnulty@kellerisd.net or the Band Booster President at briankboerner@yahoo.com. We are finalizing the Frequently Asked Questions from the meetings and will be posting shortly.
Welcome to the Band Family!!! See you at Mini Camp and Band Registration!
GO CHARGER BAND!!!
Dear KCH Band Families:
I think a lot of parents noticed the other Band was NOT at the Newman-Smith Game. Due to Budget cuts we are seeing the effects this is having on bands in our District.
Fortunately KCH’s Band is able to go to the away games this year.
I am asking that if you have NOT joined KCHSBBA please consider doing so – it is $25 per family. Now more than ever we need to continue to support our band in any way we can. It would be a sad day indeed if our kids worked this hard to only be able to perform at home games. So please lets all do our share of fundraising and become a member so we can keep what we have going strong into the future:)
To date most of the Varsity families have joined – and only a few from JV and Color-guard. We need everyone’s support!! No matter what capacity your child fulfills in the band
they are an important part of this family.
Remember your membership gives you the right to vote on many important issues that will be coming up – at some point you will want your voice heard at the meetings!! So please take a moment to fill out the attached form and have your child turn it and the $25 into the grey box in the band hall.
Remember it takes All of us to Make the Music Happen!!!
Best regards,
Sheri Almond

KCHSBBA
It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over.
In a little more than a week we will be starting school and in two weeks we will cheering the band on as they perform at the first football game halftime (Thursday, August 25th at KISD Stadium vs. Newman Smith.) If you have not yet done so, please go to the calendar section of the KCHSBand website and download our calendar. The next 2.5 months are going to be busy and we all need to be aware of what has been planned. Please review the calendar often for updates and other changes.
Also, if you have not yet volunteered to help in one of the many support areas for the band, please contact Sheri Almond at sheri@thealmonds.org and see how you can get involved. The band is the largest it has ever been and we need as many hands as possible to make sure that we feed, clothe, move, and financially support this operation. Your consideration and support is greatly appreciated.
